  • 250 gr. wheat flour
  • 150 gr. of sugar
  • 120 gr. butter or margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • A jar of cream of cocoa, Nutella or Nocilla
  • Transparent plastic wrap and vegetable paper
  • Sugar paste to decorate cookies

1- Gather all the ingredients and in a large bowl, mix the butter or soft margarine and the sugar well until obtaining a homogeneous and whitish texture. Add the egg and beat again. When everything is well blended, add the sifted flour, then the salt and yeast. Mix everything very well. Make a ball with the dough and wrap it with a transparent film. Take it to the fridge for an hour.

2- After an hour, take the dough out of the fridge and put it on a parchment paper. After also covering it with another vegetable paper, open it with the roller until a thickness of at least half a centimeter is achieved.

3- Remove the parchment paper from the dough and spread a thin layer of cocoa cream. Trim leftovers from the sides and set aside.

4- Carefully roll the dough into a roll and wrap it with transparent film. Take it to the fridge for about 3 hours. After this time, remove the film and cut the dough into discs of approximately 1 cm.

5- With the leftovers from the sides of the dough, make some balls to stick on the side of the spiral, to form the head of our snail, whenever we want to make it a head. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake the cookies for 10 to 15 minutes.

6- Our snails are ready to be eaten or 'eaten'.
